Introduction
We deeply believe that people need to be closer to nature, and that nature needs to be closer to people, and doing so in a way that is beautiful, water wise, and benefits people as well as the flora and fauna around us! Since 2019, we have been helping our customers to design the garden of their dreams, listening to their needs, and designing an outdoor space in close collaboration to create an outdoor space that is beautiful, sustainable and tailored to their needs!

We like to think of landscape design as creating one or more additional "rooms" or distinct spaces, where you can entertain, decompress from the hustle of life, and that you can enjoy with friends and family, and add curb appeal; really an extension of the occupant, and the house! We love personally connecting with you as the homeowner to find out exactly what you would like to have in your outdoor space, be it front or backyard, and then create the perfect outdoor space with you,
During this process we will meet initially at the project site and talk about what your dreams and ideas are, and how you are planning to use the space! We also encourage you to send us a Houzz or Pinterest board with spaces and plants that you like, and other materials you have, We will then measure, make a baseplan in Vectorworks, and start designing!. After 1-2 weeks we will have the first draft of a design that we think will work well in your space, and we will meet on zoom to discuss. We will send you the draft and an online document with a plant selection for feedback. From those answers we will make the changes, and we will have 1-2 additional zoom meeting to discuss and perfect the design.
Once we decide that the design is ready, you will receive electronic copies of the landscape hardscape plans, planting plans, and lighting plans, with materials, quantities and square footages that can be easily quoted by any contractor. If needed, we can connect you with contractors that we have worked with before. As part of the process we are available for an initial in=person meeting with the chosen contractor and during the installation by phone for
questions and clarifications!

Project #1 Residential Hillside Backyard
On this project, my clients asked us to transform their steep overgrown backyard hill into a space that the family could use and enjoy,safely with their young children, planted with natives and other low water and edible plants. The final design features a deck with a view of the ocean on top, a terraced and stabilized hill populated with colorful pollinator friendly plants, and a lower deck creating a tranquil oasis with cherry trees that hold a hammock, connected with stairs with perennial plantings and in-ground cutting flowers alongside.

Project #2 Residential Front Yard
Challenge: The client wanted privacy screening for an existing front yard deck to private place to sit, surrounded by a peaceful, low water landscape

Solution: Although the clients were attached to the deck, I presented several options showing the potential of a yard without the deck, and we settled on a DG patio close to the house with another seating area closer to the fence. This solution enabled us to design a cohesive landscape with mostly low plantings throughout the yard, and the privacy was achieved by hedge plants along the fence.

Awards: This graden won a Water-Wise Award by the North Coast Water District in Pacifica in 2021!

Project #3 School Plaza Re-Design
Challenge: Redesign of an underused and rarely visited Merritt College Plaza to become a destination to use for studies and breaks
Solution: I wanted to connect the students with the distinct California environment and redesigned the plaza with a dynamic layout, furnished with native plants. The outward spiral symbolizes the reach of students' ideas "Made in Oakland, California"
Project #4 Real Estate Landscape
Challenge: The clients called me to landscape their front and back yard in Los Altos, CA, to get their house ready for sale the very next week.

Solution: Given the time and monetary constraints, I did most designing in situ with minimal graphic work. The house was ready to go in 9 days, including
installation.
